Top 4 Ways to Fix Facebook Not Showing Friends Post

A clean Facebook feed experience with the latest updates from our friends is a thing of past now. Today, your Facebook feed is packed with suggestions, advertisements, and posts from irrelevant accounts. While many still prefer Facebook to stay in touch with friends and family, they often complain about missing posts from them.

Your Facebook experience can turn upside down when you only see irrelevant posts on the platform. Before you completely ditch Facebook or deactivate your account, use the steps below to start seeing posts from friends and family members.

How Does Facebook Algorithm Works

Before you make changes using the methods below, check how the Facebook feed algorithm works. Facebook not showing recent posts isn’t a bug but an algorithm set to showcase ads, groups, and other activities on the main page.

What you see on the default feed is the personalized experience Facebook creates for you based on your interests, interactions, and communication with friends. If you have connected your Facebook account to Instagram, the company also factors in your activities on Instagram and even Messenger.

Facebook prioritizes posts from friends you have interacted the most. After all, the company wants you to spend most of your time on the platform by displaying updates from your favorite friends at the top. While it’s effective and a standard practice from most social media apps, you may miss out on updates from other friends.

Facebook doesn’t straightaway give you the option to disable it. However, you have several options to tweak the feed to your preference and get back the ideal feed.

1. Check Your Friends Feed

Although it’s buried in settings, you can more of your friends posts on Facebook.

Step 1: Open Facebook on your phone and go to your profile in the top-right corner. Select Feeds.

Step 2: Move to the Friends tab and check posts from your friends only.

You can check your friends’ posts without any thing affecting your experience.

2. Check Favorites Feed

Do you want to view posts from specific contacts only? You can create a favorites list on Facebook that shows updates from the selected contacts only. Here’s what you need to do.

Step 1: Launch the Facebook app on your phone and open the Feeds menu (check the steps above).

Step 2: Move to the Favorites tab.

Step 3: Tap Manage Favorites. Add your preferred friends and pages to the Favorites list.

Return to the previous screen to see the feed from your favorite contacts. Unfortunately, there is no way to create more than one favorites lists on Facebook.

3. Hide All Posts From a Specific Page

Do you often see posts from irrelevant Facebook pages on your feed? It’s especially annoying when Facebook suggests unnecessary posts from bogus pages that auto-play content on the home menu. You have the option to hide posts on such pages permanently.

Step 1: Launch the Facebook app on your phone, and when you come across such posts, tap the three horizontal dots menu at the posts’s top-right corner.

Step 2: Select the ‘Hide all from page name’ option.

You can also tap ‘Show less’ and receive fewer such suggestions. Repeat the same for all such posts to simplify your Facebook feed.

4. Manage Your Facebook Feed

Facebook also offers an effective way to manage your feed experience like a pro. Follow the steps below to make changes.

Step 1: Launch the Facebook app on your phone and tap the three horizontal dots menu beside any post. Select Manage Facebook Feed.

Step 2: You can add people and pages to prioritize their posts in the Feed.

Step 3: The second ‘Snooze’ option temporarily stops posts from people, pages, and groups.

The ‘Unfollow’ option completely hides posts from friends, pages, and groups. Make the necessary changes to each menu, and you are good to go.

Create an Ideal Facebook Experience

It can be frustrating when you only see 5 or 10 friends’ posts out of 500 friends on your list. Before your Facebook experience turns into a complete dumpster fire, use the solutions above to tweak your Facebook feed to show friends’ posts and other unnecessary content.
