So, without any further ado, here is a list of fitness trackers without subscriptions. But first, you might want to check out-

Now, let’s take a closer look at some affordable fitness trackers that don’t require a subscription service.

1. Garmin Vivofit 4

  • Heart Rate Monitor: No | Built-in GPS: No

Garmin vivofit 4

One of the most common arguments made against the use of smart wearables is that the majority come with poor battery backup. Well, if you find yourself in the same boat, then you will find the Garmin vivofit 4 to your liking. On that note, the fitness tracker comes with a one-year battery backup! That’s quite bizarre, seeing how the tracker does, in fact, have a display.

Granted, the display is quite tiny but even then, the vivofit 4’s battery backup is otherworldly. More to the point, the fitness tracker comes with a bunch of different activity-tracking features, including step and distance tracking as well as sleep monitoring. Unsurprisingly, the tracker has been a runaway hit, with the majority of users applauding its step-tracking chops and battery backup.

If anything, the tracker doesn’t come with a heart rate monitor, which is a bummer. Moreover, some folks have pointed out that the vivofit 4’s sleep tracking is not up to the mark either. On the upside, the tracker supports interchangeable straps, so you can stylize your vivofit 4 however you deem fit. Pool everything together and the Garmin vivofit 4 is a great fitness tracker without a subscription.

2. Amazfit Band 5

  • Battery Life: Up to 15 days | Screen Size: 1.1-inch AMOLED
  • Heart Rate Monitor: Yes | Built-in GPS: No
  • Weight: 24 grams | Water Resistance: Up to 5 ATM
Amazfit Band 5

Amazfit has a reputation for ‘bang for the buck’ fitness trackers and the company’s Amazfit Band is a testament to the same. To that end, the tracker comes with a treasure trove of features. While you get the usual array including step-tracking and sleep-monitoring, the Band 5 can also keep a track of menstrual cycles and ovulation periods.

What’s more, the band can track the calories burnt in 11 different sports, including swimming, cycling, outdoor running, and works. Speaking of which, the device is waterproof up to 5ATM, so you can wear the tracker in a shower, or go swimming with it wrapped around your wrist too. What’s more, the device can give insights into your sleeping patterns as well. To that end, users have reported that the Band 5 could track their sleep cycles accurately.

Interestingly, the Band 5 also comes with a built-in HR monitor, so you can track your heart rate with the device as well. Moreover, the tracker gets a SpO2 monitor too. For those unaware, a SpO2 monitor can shed light on the oxygen saturation in your blood. Add to that the unit’s 15-day battery backup and an AMOLED display and the Band 5 is a VFM fitness tracker without a subscription service.

3. Withings Pulse HR

  • Battery Life: Up to 20 days | Screen Size: 0.75-inch AMOLED
  • Heart Rate Monitor: Yes | Built-in GPS: No
  • Weight: 45 grams | Water Resistance: Up to 50 meters
Withings Pulse HR

If you fancy an elegant fitness tracker with a minimalistic design, then you will find the Withings Pulse HR right up your alley. To that end, the tracker sports a stunning design and can be easily dressed up or down. In fact, unlike most sub-$100 fitness bands, the Pulse HR is made, in parts using stainless steel, which imparts a luxurious look.

What’s more, the tracker comes with a 0.75-inch, monochrome OLED display which is neatly camouflaged within the Pulse HR’s black casing. Do note that the display can tell the time at a glance. It can even relay notifications from your smartphone over to your wrist, however, you might struggle to read text-heavy messages on the display. In fact, a lot of users have complained about the same in their customer reviews too.

On the bright side, this subscription-less tracker comes with an HR monitor which seemingly overturns accurate readings, per some reviews. The fitness tracker can also automatically detect and record your workouts. More notably, the device offers a 20-day battery backup and is more than adept at monitoring your sleep too. You even get a sleep score with a thorough breakdown of your sleeping patterns, which is great.

4. Honor Band 6

  • Battery Life: Up to 14 days | Screen Size: 1.47-inch AMOLED
  • Heart Rate Monitor: Yes | Built-in GPS: No
  • Weight: 18 grams | Water Resistance: Up to 5 ATM
Honor Band 6

In fact, the Band 6 can track a slew of other workouts, including swimming, indoor running, cycling, and more. This reminds us, the tracker is waterproof up to 5ATM, so you can use it to track laps around a pool without running the risk of damaging the unit. More notably, the band comes with a SpO2 monitor, as well as a sensor to track a user’s heart rate.

Consequently, you can enable all-day tracking from within the Band 6’s companion app to get insights on the oxygen saturation level in your blood as well as your resting heart rate periodically. Additionally, you can track your sleeping patterns with the device too. On that note, the Band 6 uses the brand’s TruSleep algorithm to accurately identify different stages of a user’s sleep cycles. These include the time spent in deep, light, and REM sleep.

You can even choose from a number of clock faces and stylize the Band 6 to your liking. Additionally, the device offers up to two weeks of battery life, which is great.

5. Huawei Band 7

  • Battery Life: Up to 14 days | Screen Size: 1.47-inch AMOLED
  • Heart Rate Monitor: Yes | Built-in GPS: No
  • Weight: 16 grams | Water Resistance: Up to 5 ATM
Huawei Band 7

The Huawei Band 7 is a great, no-frills fitness tracker that won’t burn a hole in your wallet. The device comes with a 1.47-inch AMOLED display that can be customized to your heart’s content. In fact, the company claims that the band supports over 4,000 unique watch faces, which is great. That’s not all, as the Band 7 also comes with support for Always on Display functionality.

Do note that turning the feature on will eat into the unit’s battery backup. However, it is an intuitive way to check the time without pressing the physical button to wake the fitness tracker. Coming to the meat of the matter, the Huawei Band 7 supports a wide array of fitness tracking modes – 96, to be precise. Moreover, unlike some competing devices, the tracker can relay insights on high-level metrics, including running ability index and VO2 Max estimates.

But, you don’t just have to take our word for it – in fact, reviewers across the globe have come to the same conclusion too!

  1. Why under $100 and if that was the limitation, you should have included this into the article title. This was such a useless article that told you very little for a super limited range of devices
