How to Send Original Size Pictures on WhatsApp

Quick Tips
  • You can tap the HD option before sending a photo to send it in full resolution.
  • You can share your photos as a link via Google Drive or iCloud Photos.
  • You can convert your photo to a PDF file on your iPhone and share it.

Method 1: Using HD Option in WhatsApp

You can send photos in HD resolution using WhatsApp on your iPhone or Android. Just select the picture that you want to share and tap the HD icon at the top. This option is also available for WhatsApp Web users.

Method 2: Send Picture as Document

On Mobile

Launch WhatsApp → open chat → tap + → select Document → attach the photo.

On WhatsApp Web

Step 1: Go to WhatsApp Web and log in to your account.

Step 2: Click the Plus icon in your chat > Document.

Step 3: Choose your photo and send it.

While it’s wise to sync/backup your photos to Google Drive or iCloud, you can also use this feature to share high-quality images via WhatsApp. However, you can manually upload the images to Google Photos/Drive or create an iCloud Shared photo library.

Then, share this link with your contact on WhatsApp. Although technically, you’re not sharing images through WhatsApp, this hack works fine, especially if you want collaborative photo sharing.

Method 4: Create and Share a PDF

On iPhone

Step 1: Open the Photos app, select the photo, and tap the Share icon at the bottom-left corner.

Step 2: Tap on Print, select the Share icon, and choose Save to Files.

However, remember that it’s not that easy to convert the PDF back to images. So, this one’s a great hack if you want the receivers to view and not use the photos, otherwise, you can totally skip this one.

On Android

Step 1: Open Google Photos, select your photo, and tap on Share.

Step 2: Select Print under More options and choose Save as PDF.
