Basic Fixes
- Free up internal storage of your iPhone: You can go to Settings > iPhone Storage and check which apps are taking up maximum storage.
- Force quit and relaunch the app: This will give the app a fresh start and reload all your data.
- Update iOS: This will install the latest version of the Messages app on your iPhone.
Fix 1: Disable and Re-enable iCloud Sync of Messages
One user in the official Apple Community forum suggests that you can re-enable Messages for iCloud on your iPhone. This method will re-enable access to your iMessage on your iCloud account.
Open Settings > Profile icon > iCloud > Show All > Messages > disable Sync this iPhone. Wait for some time and then re-enable it.
Fix 2: Change DNS Server
If your images are still not loading in iMessage, you can try changing your DNS server. You might have opted for a DNS server to get better internet speeds and privacy features. But it can be the reason why you are unable to download your images. So we suggest changing your DNS server on your iPhone.
Step 1: Open Settings and then tap on Wi-Fi. Tap on the info icon next to your Wi-Fi network.
Step 2: Scroll down to DNS and tap on Configure DNS. Then, select Manual from the following screen.
Step 3: Tap on the minus icon to delete the pre-filled entries under DNS servers.
Step 4: Tap Add Server and type the DNS server address you want. If you want to use Google’s public DNS servers, type 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in the text box.
Then, tap on Save in the top-right corner.
Fix 3: Reset Network Settings
Resetting the Network Settings of your iPhone will forget all your previously connected Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth devices, and mobile data settings. You will have to set up everything again from scratch.
Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings > tap again on Reset Network Settings.
