2 Ways to Fix WhatsApp Calls Not Working on Mac

Quick Tips
  • Enable the mic and webcam on your Mac for WhatsApp.
  • Force quit and relaunch WhatsApp on your Mac.

Basic Fixes

  • Check your internet speed: WhatsApp calls need a stable internet connection. So, ensure you have connected your Mac to a high-speed Wi-Fi network.
  • Disable Low Data Mode for Wi-Fi: If you don’t have any daily data limits on your Wi-Fi network, we suggest disabling Low Data Mode on your Mac.
  • Ensure that other apps are not using camera or microphone: If there’s an app running on your Mac that’s already accessing the microphone or camera, it can cause such issues.
  • Update or Reinstall WhatsApp: You can update the current app version or reinstall WhatsApp on your Mac.

Fix 1: Check Microphone and Webcam Permissions

Step 1: Open System Settings and go to Privacy and Security from the left menu.

Step 2: Scroll down and click on Microphone. Then, check whether WhatsApp is allowed to use it. If not, enable the permission.
