How to Set up Auto Replies to Calls and Messages on iPhone

Method 1: Set up Automatic Replies to Calls on iPhone

The Phone app settings give you three predefined text options for sending them as automatic replies.

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone > tap on Phone.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Respond With Text. You will have three predefined text options to create personalized automated text messages.

Step 3: Type your messages, and they will appear as options when you call someone. You can always choose to remove or edit your automated message.

Now, whenever you receive a call that you can’t answer, tap on the Message icon to select your automatic reply.

Method 2: Set up Automatic Replies to Messages on iPhone

To enable automatic replies to messages, you can also use the Driving Focus Mode on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone and select Focus from the list of options.

Step 2: Tap the Plus icon at the top-right corner and select Driving from the list of Focus Profiles.

Step 3: Tap on Customize Focus to proceed and tap on Auto-Reply.

Step 4: You can select which contacts or callers will receive the automated text message when they call or message you.

Step 5: Type your custom automated message. Then go back, scroll down, and tap on When Driving.

Step 6: You can choose when to activate the Driving Focus mode. This applies even if your vehicle doesn’t have Apple CarPlay support.

If you have Apple CarPlay, you can enable the Driving Focus as soon as your iPhone is connected to CarPlay.

You can also choose to select the people from your contacts from whom you want to receive notifications.

To delete Driving Focus Mode, scroll to the bottom of Driving Focus Mode settings and tap on Delete Focus.
