2 Ways to Block YouTube Channels on Desktop and Mobile

If you have your YouTube search history on, or if you’re using YouTube while being logged into your Google account, chances are its algorithm has picked up on your preferences and is recommending content based on it. However, there might be videos that you accidentally clicked on and now wish to remove from this list. To do that, you can block those YouTube channels.

How to Block YouTube Channels

There are two ways to block a YouTube channel. By removing them from your feed, you can scroll through your YouTube homepage without seeing videos from that particular channel. However, to remove the channel from your search results as well, you will need to completely block the channel. Let’s have a look at how to do both using the YouTube desktop and mobile app.

Method 1: Block a YouTube Channel From Appearing on Your Feed

If you simply want to block a YouTube channel from appearing on your feed, soft-ban the channel using the don’t recommend channel option. This will ensure that the videos from this channel stop appearing on your home page, while still viewing the YouTube channel from search results. Here’s how to do it.

Using Web Browser

Step 1: Open Youtube on your web browser.

Step 2: Either scroll through the page to look for a video from the relevant channel or use the search bar to look for it.

Step 3: Then, go to the video and click on the three-dot icon.

Step 4: Here, click on ‘Don’t recommend channel’.

Click on three-dot icon & on don't recommend

This will stop YouTube from recommending you videos from this channel in your feed. Also, if you’ve accidentally blocked the wrong channel, click on Undo without leaving the page.
